Psychologic concept of guilt in the work of Karl T. Jaspers

The bachelor thesis describes the concept of guilt in the work of german psychologist and philosopher Karl T. Jaspers. The first part is dedicated to introducing Karl Jaspers as author and thinker, the second part will be elaborating on the context of his own thinking in he light of important thinkers who influenced him. The third part analyses in detail Jaspers's fundametal work The Question of German Guilt, while emphasizing moral and metaphysical guilt. The fourth part is dedicated to the issue of collective guilt and Jaspers's view of this matter and tho reactions of other authors. In the fifth part is developed the concept of conscience, which partly answers some of the questions raised in Jaspers's work. The Political Thought of Karl Jaspers

The Political Thought of Karl Jaspers - Abstract The aim of the dissertation was to interpret the thinking of Karl Jaspers as an endeavour to clarify the connecting lines between the basic characteristics of human being and its historical and political dimensions. In the book we reconstructed Jaspers' spiritual development from systematic-theoretical research to the engagement of a public intellectual. As his main legacy are shown the importance of the inseparability, of a mutual cultivation and prove of philosophical foundation and historical being as well as exploration. Jaspers is presented as an important participant in the discussions about the problems of German society from the 1930s to the 1960s, whose contribution laid not in a philosophically "more abstract" analysing of problems, but in discovering that social and political being cannot do without philosophical self-reflection of man, of the structure of human existence and knowledge and of the principial values derived from it. In his confrontations with the situation of German culture, politics and society, Jaspers enriched the public debate by cultivating the philosophical and methodical consciousness. Hannah Arendt and her concept banality of Evil

The present thesis deals with the concept of the banality of evil philosopher Hannah Arendt Along with other interpretations of the notion of evil. This work aims to introduce the concept of the banality of evil take Adolf Eichmann Nazi criminals Which Mel trial in Jerusalem, on the basis of Arendt created already mentioned the term banality of evil. Further more, the work tasked to introduce more starting positions on the question of evil. The work also focuses Another controversial idea of Jewish elites Collaboration with the Nazis. At work I have stated several perspectives on this issue and presented the views of opponents Arendt. The works appear as philosophical Thus sociological and psychological perspectives on the question of evil. To support the thesis of the banality of evil, I introduced the psychological experiments that partially confirmed the concept of Hannah Arendt.
Philosophical faith in Karl Jaspers

Karl Jaspers is a thinker who tries in his philosophy to formulate a non-religious concept of faith. The thesis wants to clarify this "philosophical faith", which constitutes for Jaspers an answer to the question, "by what and toward what shall we live". Jaspers characterizes his philosophical faith as a "faith of a thinking man", which lay in grounds of philosophizing itself. On the one hand, philosophical faith (and philosophy itself) is different from the knowledge and science, because it cannot be reduced to a mere content; on the other hand, it is different from the religious faith and religion itself, mainly because it cannot accept the traditional Christian revelation. Finally, philo- sophical faith can be characterized as a communicative manner of life, which wants to reach the maximum possible level of understanding by all people. Death and finitude: Jaspers vs. Sartre

The bachelor's thesis "Death and Finitude: Jaspers vs. Sartre" compares the accounts of human death and, above all, mortality in the work of J.-P. Sartre and K. Jaspers. Although both authors are often seen as existentialist philosophers, their attitudes toward death are very different. According to Sartre, man cannot relate to their own death because death does not belong in any way into the structure of being-for- itself, which means that it cannot have any sense for them. On the contrary, according to Jaspers, a human being can relate to their death through anxiety in boundary situations. Their facing the situation without trying to cloud their mortality results into their capability to differentiate between the things that are not valuable with regard to temporal finitude of human life, and existential moments above time that have a value that does not disappear with death. As a result of becoming conscious of their mortality, man actualizes their existence, becoming thus more "themselves". Contrarily, Sartre's account leads to the conclusion that man cannot be aware of their mortality - nevertheless, they are afraid of being deprived of their freedom after their death by the others. Philosophical aspects in Josef Čapek's work

This bachelor thesis, divided into two parts, is focused on Josef Čapek's later literary work. The main objective of the first part is the interpretation of philosophical aspects in Kulhavý poutník (attention is focused especially on the specific genre and on the principle of Čapek's thinking), the second part is based on philosophy of existence, particularly on Karl Jaspers' philosophical work, and its aimed to some items which are common for both authors (e. g. the modern situation comprehension or the conception of death).
